My father and maternal grandfather are taking me to the opera building. I'm only 4 or 5 years old. It is an old baroque palace full of gold and opulent chandeliers. We climb the staircase and proceed to the balcony section. The ornate railing is too high and I can't see what's happening on the stage, but I hear scary human screams and the slashing sounds of a primitive weapon being used. Somehow I know what is happening down there: Jesus Christ is executing crowds of obedient, nude people. The weapon being used is a double headed axe and I can see the shadow of it descending upon the victims. My dad and grandfather hold me by my hand as we approach a doorway leading to a dark corridor. My grandfather says: "Don't be scared. We have to take you there...and they are going to cut a small vein in your heart". I become instantly horrified and feel the urge to escape. I throw myself on the ground and sneak between my grandfather’s legs. I run into the corridor, the two men chase me. I am running towards a white door at the end if the corridor, feeling that reaching it is my only chance. Suddenly my feet become trapped in the wooden floor, which has become alive and sucks my feet in like a quicksand or mire. I can feel my father and grandfather approaching and I wake up screaming.
I arrive at a wedding in a remote, mountainous location. I am driven in a beige stretch limo, which drops me off in front of the white, Victorian mansion where the ceremony will take place. I catch a glimpse of the bride running by, wearing her stylish wedding dress. I notice the dress has yellow folding lines, as if it had been in storage for decades. A group of men dressed in proper wedding attire seem are eagerly climbing up the rock formations surrounding the mansion. These are not very steep but definitely vast, extending all the way to the horizon line. The rocky terrain is divided into sections with little wire fences, low enough for the climbers to simply hop over. I feel compelled to follow them. After several minutes of a fairly strenuous hike, I arrive at a sudden cliff, a ravine, extremely deep and several meters wide. On the other bank I notice Big Bird from Sesame Street, sitting on a rock shelf and clearly staring at me. The creature is human sized and completely gray. It's eyes look a bit sad, or maybe dull, as if on painkillers. I turn my head to the left and discover that the ravine opens up into an enormous canyon. In the canyon I see yet another gray Big Bird, except this one is massive, the size of a mountain. In fact it is so huge that I can no longer tell between the rocky walls of the canyon and its grey feathers. Terrified, I run back. I notice that all my teeth have painlessly fallen out and I spit them out onto my open hand. I wake up.
I'm awake in the middle of the night. I'm in my father's room in my parents apartment. This is one of the 70's projects buildings in Krakow, a five story multiple family housing building made out of concrete. It seems like I'm alone, it is a warm summer night and the lights are off inside. I look out of an open window. The streets are completely desolate, the windows in all neighboring buildings are dark but the streetlights are on. It is as if nobody lived here. Up in the sky I see something that terrifies me instantly. Across the dark skies there are several enormous objects, slowly and silently moving from right to left. These things look like geometric yet irregular crystals, dark and somewhat metallic. They are truly immense in size, perhaps each as big as an entire city. I can't tell if these are man made vessels, an alien invasion or something altogether different. I see that their surface is perfectly smooth and uninterrupted, except for little dim spots of light that seem to mark some edges and corners. My first instinct is to wake up everybody and find out what's going on. But then I realize it doesn't even matter, things will never be the same.
I'm a fireman sitting in a very large dark interior, which resembles an abandoned factory or industrial space. The ceilings are at least 16 feet high and daylight filters in through small windows that are very high up, close to the ceiling. I’m wearing a rather outdated outfit, a uniform of sorts, a coat and a shining helmet which looks antique. There is a large sized metal bell hanging off the ceiling beam and I'm waiting for it to call me to my duties. Simultaneously, I'm also hidden behind one of the walls. In this incarnation I'm some type of scientist wearing a white gown. My job is monitoring the fireman. I watch him through an optical device similar to a microscope. My other self, fireman is not aware of my scientist self. The scientist knows that the bell is empty inside and it is dysfunctional, so the alarm will never ring. The fireman is just waiting for his signal but nothing happens.
